To
mark Sukkot, continue CBE’s  tradition of community service and raise awareness
of the problem of homelessness in New York City, a new event, Sukkah in
the Street will be held on October 19 from 11am until 3pm. On that day a sukkah will be
constructed in the middle of Garfield Place.This multi-generational event will
include a kid-friendly concert starting at 11am featuring Chana Rothamn and her
band; resources and presentations about the causes of homelessness and how to
prevent and solve the problem; an opportunity to volunteer and donate goods to
help those in need; and activities to educate and encourage our community to
take action against homelessness and a BESTY bake sale. These activities will begin at 12:30pm.
